Another awesome effort put in by the PBS Camera Club.
PBS Camera Club students really showed off their creative thinking skills, designing photo sets "on the fly" for the "food photography challenge".
Students experimented with different light sources, reflecting light, and how the narrow aperture forced them to slow the shutter speeds down to get some nice clear shots.
Take a look at the attached class photos here, and students will soon be posting their master pieces on the club blog https://bit.ly/3riVQGs

PBS teachers this week are undergoing stringent professional development focusing on literacy in the bilingual classroom.
This intensive course is certified and licenced by Australia, ensuring that PBS students will be receiving only the very best of education.
The course incorporates group discussion, small group activities, classroom-based research and highly practical readings. It is designed to develop teachers’ understandings about language and literacy using a functional model of language.
The course entails 30 hours of face-to-face professional development in 10 modules which, when combined with between module activities and readings, is equivalent to more than 60 hours of professional development for teachers !!
Permata Bangsa School, Simply The Best.
Great job by PBS SMP students today, on their second and final day of the ANBK national testing.
Grade 8 students were on time, well prepared and ready for action. It took them no time to get logged in online and calculating away. In no time at all the test was over with time to spare. Awesome job guys !

Well done to the Grade 1 and Grade 5 students. Checking your eyes, getting immunized, checking your weight and height and also your vision. Remember, an apple a day keeps the doctor away !
The PBS Camera Club this week learnt SHUTTER SPPED
Shutter speed allows us to freeze moving objects or slow them down. Students experimented photographing a fan and a hose squirting water and changing the shutter speeds.
They will post some of their images on the club blog and comment on them. Please feel free to check out the BLOG by click the word Blog.

PBS students (and teachers) had a wonderful afternoon playing traditional games celebrating Indonesian Independence Day.
Trainer, Ibu Rina, met with PBS senior student to learn how to eco enzyme. Garbage enzyme (also known as eco enzyme) is a multipurpose liquid that is produced from the fermentation of organic waste. As part of the community, our PBS students practiced how to make the eco enzyme to save our environment.
Grade 4, 5 and 6 students learned how to take care of their mouth and teeth health from the doctors of Puskesmas Ngesrep. They also learned how to prevent themselves from Dengue Fever and Hepatitis.
Students form up in the Bob Clark Hall for information on this year's school programme.
Students couldn't wait to get out on the playground for some real fun!

Happy Holidays and Stay Safe everyone !
The PBS Team.
Grade 10 is at it again. In the harsh world of business, our grade 10s pulled out all the stops and were reeling in the crowds of bargain hunters to their well-stocked stalls. There was even a motor scooter with side car on hand to present the delicious snacks.
Leaving your wallet or purse at home was not an excuse today, as grade 10 had you covered with QR scanning phone banking. They really did seem to think of everything.
Many thanks to our parent community that came out to support our aspiring business leaders.
Perhaps the most important lesson of business learnt here today though was:
“Make it feel like fun, not like work.”
Thank you to all our parents, students, teachers, and everyone else in our community who have opened their hearts for such a good cause, helping out the flood victims of the surrounding Semarang port area.
Tomorrow grade 10 will deliver these items and we shall keep you updated.
Well done! It’s people like you who make Permata Bangsa School Simply the Best!
A wonderful lunchbreak was had by all. The PBS grade 7, 8 and 9 students demonstrated their entrepreneurial skills in a pop up bazar. Homemade treats, artwork, refreshing drinks and of course some sweets.
The popup bazar is part of the PBS Project Based Learning programme that focused on encouraging students to further develop their entrepreneurial skills.
We plan to run the bazar again soon and invite parents as well. Hopefully Ms Endang and her team can organize some student buskers to entertain the busy crowds on the day.
Well done guys and we hope you did not eat and drink all of your profits !
