Our hero this week is Galileo Galilei. He was an astronomer and a scientist from Italy. Galileo was honest about our solar system, that the earth and other planets revolve around the sun.
People didn’t believe him. At that time, they believed that the sun revolved the earth, that the earth stood still because no one could feel the earth move. They made Galileo take back his words and stay home for the rest of his life.
But it didn’t stop Galileo from continuing writing about his scientific discoveries. Today Galileo is known as the father of modern science.
