          • LET’S CHECK OUR HEART BEATS

          • August 16, 2019

Grade 6 students were so enthusiastic when they knew that they could use a stethoscope to check their friend’s heart beats. It was not that easy to be able to hear the beats especially on our resting position. Everything changed after they ran for about 2 minutes around the playground. Checking the beats for the second time especially after doing exercise was so surprising.  It sounded so loud and fast through the stethoscope. We found out that after doing exercise our muscles work very hard. They need much more energy and oxygen. Our heart pumps the blood quickly to transport oxygen and digested food to our muscles and other parts of our body. That’s why it got the beats faster than before.

          • WHAT SHOULD WE DO?

          • August 30, 2019 - Grade 5 Science Field Trip

Who doesn’t like playing? It is so obvious that students like to play at school. Running, chasing each other in our playground or even playing basketball in our Bob Clark Hall are few fun physical activities students like doing during exercise breaks. Therefore, accidents might happen during these activities. Bone and muscle injuries commonly happen at school. How about other injuries or illnesses? Mosquito and other insect bites can also affect some illnesses such as itchy feeling, rash or even worse, dengue disease. We gathered the information by searching through the internet about those injuries and illnesses and creating posters as our final product. We also listed some first aid measures that can be held to relieve the pain of the victims before sending them to hospital if the condition become worse.

          • PLAN A HEALTHY MENU

          • August 22, 2019- Grade 3 Science Field Trip

            “What is healthy food?”

We have learned in our Science class that healthy food is all kinds of food that contain of complete nutritional requirements for our body such as carbohydrate, proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals. Each of us has different nutritional requirements depending on age, gender, body weight and activities.

Narayya was so excited to identify and explain all the nutrition from the food that she had prepared from home. After that, she planned for us healthy breakfast, lunch and dinner menus.

          • LET’S BRUSH OUR TEETH

          • On August 26, 2019 - Grade 3 Science Field Trip

Learning will not be complete if we don’t do the activity related to it. Grade 3 students learned about the two sets of teeth that they grow in their life, milk and permanent teeth. They also identified and discussed the functions of four types of teeth such as incisors, canines, premolars and molars. Moreover, they also talked about how to keep our teeth clean and healthy. One of the ways is by brushing our teeth. They brought a set of toothbrush, toothpaste and plastic mug from home. First, we watched a video that shows how to brush our teeth properly. Then we demonstrated it in our lunch area. That was so much fun to learn by doing something related to it!
