          • LET’S CHECK OUR HEART BEATS

          • August 16, 2019

Grade 6 students were so enthusiastic when they knew that they could use a stethoscope to check their friend’s heart beats. It was not that easy to be able to hear the beats especially on our resting position. Everything changed after they ran for about 2 minutes around the playground. Checking the beats for the second time especially after doing exercise was so surprising.  It sounded so loud and fast through the stethoscope. We found out that after doing exercise our muscles work very hard. They need much more energy and oxygen. Our heart pumps the blood quickly to transport oxygen and digested food to our muscles and other parts of our body. That’s why it got the beats faster than before.

          • WHAT SHOULD WE DO?

          • August 30, 2019 - Grade 5 Science Field Trip

Who doesn’t like playing? It is so obvious that students like to play at school. Running, chasing each other in our playground or even playing basketball in our Bob Clark Hall are few fun physical activities students like doing during exercise breaks. Therefore, accidents might happen during these activities. Bone and muscle injuries commonly happen at school. How about other injuries or illnesses? Mosquito and other insect bites can also affect some illnesses such as itchy feeling, rash or even worse, dengue disease. We gathered the information by searching through the internet about those injuries and illnesses and creating posters as our final product. We also listed some first aid measures that can be held to relieve the pain of the victims before sending them to hospital if the condition become worse.
