          • The Bob Clark Sports Hall - Gala Dinner

          • PBS held its 1st Gala on Wednesday, April 10th to officially open The Bob Clark Hall. It was a splendid evening with over 200 guests (parents, students, teachers and admin). We enjoyed great food, special photography, a live band and wonderful conversation with friends and community. We are grateful to our school community for coming to the event and learning more about the Bob Clark Sports Hall and the community sports programme.

          • Sekolah Permata Bangsa senang dengan kedatangan Mr. Stuart Goodsir untuk mewakili British Council minggu lalu. Mr Goodsir sebelumnya sudah bertemu Ibu Agustin, Ibu Kerry dan Pak Tory ketika mengikuti seminar di Kuala Lumpur akhir-akhir ini.

            Permata Bangsa PD Day (Professional Development)

            Sekolah akan diliburkan pada tanggal 11 Februari untuk memberi kesempatan kepada para guru untuk bertemu dan membahas “tips for assessing their students’ language skills development (Tips-tips menilai perkembangan kecakapan berbahasa para siswa)” bersama Stuart Goodsir yang akan mengunjungi kita dari Beijing, Tiongkok pada tanggal 11 dan 12 Februari.

            Mohon catat even-even berikut pada kalendar Bapak/Ibu:

            • 11 Februari dari jam 3.30 – 5.30: Kunjungi kami di Ciputra Land Expo dari jam 3.30 – 5.00 sore dimana Mr Amin dari Permata Bangsa akan memandu diskusi panel: Cambridge Assessment and IELTS bersama para panelis: Stuart Goodsir, Kerry Neuman, Tory Nusantoro dan Agustin Roestanto.
            • 12 Februari dari jam 11 – 12 siang: Orang tua murid diundang untuk mengikuti Meet and Greet dengan Stuart Goodsir pada even Parents’ Open House kami. Even ini akan berlangsung di Teacher’s Training room.

            Monday February 11 – Classes Cancelled - Students DO NOT come to school

            Classes will be cancelled on Monday February 11th to provide Permata Bangsa teachers an opportunity to meet and discuss “tips for assessing their students’ language skills development” with Stuart Goodsir who will be visiting us from Bejing, China on February 11th and 12th.

            Please mark your calendar for the following events:

            • February 11 from 3:30 - 5:00:  Visit us at the Citputra Land Expo from 3:30 – 5:00 p.m. where Permata Bangsa’s Mr. Amin will host a Panel Discussion:  Cambridge Assessment and IELTS.  Panel consists of:  Stuart Goodsir, Kerry Neuman, Tory Nusantoro and Agustin Roestanto
            • February 12 from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.:  Parents are invited to Meet & Greet Stuart Goodsir at our Parents’ Open House.  This event will take place in the Teachers’ Training Room above Reception.

          • Newsletter from POPDA Semarang 

          • Permata Bangsa mengawali tahun 2019 ini dengan ikut berpartisipasi pada event POPDA SD & SMA. Brandon Marciano (Gr 5) yang merupakan atlit tenis lapangan junior kembali meraih juara 1 di event POPDA tingkat kota yg diselenggarakan pada hari Rabu & Kamis 23-24 Januari lalu di lapangan Tambora. Di laga final Brandon bermain dengan konsisten hingga akhirnya dapat meraih posisi pertama pada POPDA tingkat kota Semarang. Saat ini Brandon tengah bersiap untuk bertanding pada ajang POPDA tingkat Provinsi yg akan diselenggarakan Juni mendatang.

            Pada jenjang SMA, 3 siswa dari Grade 11 turun di cabang olahraga atletik. Anakin mengikuti nomor tolak peluru, sedangkan Florence dan Bradley masing - masing turun di nomor lari 100m & 200m. Kamis 24 Januari di lapangan atletik Tri Lomba Juang, mereka telah berhasil menampilkan yg terbaik. Terbukti dengan Anakin yg menempati posisi ke 4, Florence pun berhasil menembus babak final meski akhirnya harus puas finish di urutan ke 6. Bradley pun mampu menyelesaikan 200m nya dengan baik meski hanya mampu tertahan di babak kualifikasi.

            Good job students, keep it up !!

          • Farewell to our Fabulous Four!

          • Atas nama Permata Bangsa School – Global Education, dengan bangga kami mempersembahkan Permata Bangsa School Recognition  Award for an Outstanding Teaching Performance during the school years 2018-2019 kepada Ms Putri Astuti, Ms Primana, Ms Hayah, dan Mr Arno. Keempat Guru ini telah diterima dan terpilih sebagai CPNS karena kemampuan yang memadai sebagai Guru. Terima kasih atas dedikasi selama ini dan semoga berhasil di masa yang akan datang. 

            Selamat datang kembali kami sampaikan kepada Ms Putri Nilasari yang dengan antusias siap melanjutkan proses pembelajaran Primary Science and Math. Selamat datang pula kepada Mr Bambang sebagai Kepala Sekolah Nasional untuk (SD) Sekolah Dasar , serta Mr Anwar yang telah siap melanjutkan proses pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia

          • New photos were added to the album Mobile Library.

            The mobile library serving our Permata Bangsa Junior High school students will now be a regular feature visiting the campus. Our students enjoyed sitting under the trees reading from the large selection of fiction books available.

            Our school library already has well over 4,000 books looked after by our full-time librarian. Having the mobile library ensures that our students have access to popular books in Bahasa Indonesia as well.

          • GREAT Scholarships 2019 - East Asia

          • Ms. Kerry dan Ms. Endang menghadiri Press Conference program beasiswa GREAT dari British Council dan 6 Perguruan tinggi pada tanggal 22 November 2018. Siswa Indonesia baik dari program Nasional maupun Internasional berpeluang besar mendapatkan beasiswa belajar di UK.             Ms. Kerry and Ms. Endang attended the Press Conference of GREAT scholarship program from the British Council and 6 College on November 22, 2018.           • Mr. Amin training Exams Officers in Surabaya this week!

          • Selamat kepada Mr. Amin:

            PBS akan berpartisipasi dalam pelatihan Cambridge Exams Officer di Surabaya tanggal 27-28 November 2018.

            Mr. Amin diminta untuk berpartisipasi sebagai pembicara dalam pelatihan Cambridge Exams Officer di Surabaya. Beliau dipilih sebagai salah satu pembicara dalam even yang akan diselenggarakan di IPH School Surabaya, Jl. Kedung Baruk no. 114, Surabaya tersebut.

            PBS Exams Officer and Science Coordinator  Mr. Amin akan berpartisipasi di hari pertama (presentasi) dan hari kedua (simulasi), sesi penyelenggaraan ujian IGCSE dan AS/A Level fase 1 & 2.

            Congratulations Mr. Amin:

            PBS will participate in the training of Cambridge Exams Officers in Surabaya 27-28 date November 2018.

            PBS Exams Officer and Science Coordinator Mr. Amin was asked to participate as a speaker in the Cambridge Exams Officer training in Surabaya. He was selected as one of the speakers in the event which will be held at the IPH School Surabaya JL. Kedung Baruk No. 114, Surabaya.

            Mr. Amin will participate in the first day (presentation) and the second day (simulation), a session of the Organization of exams IGCSE and AS/A Level.

            Konferensi ini ditujukan untuk Spesialis Asesmen Bahasa Inggris yang berhubungan dengan & nbsp; akademia, kebijakan dan pelaksanaan; menunjukkan pendekatan dan penilitian secara lokal, regional dan internasional.


            Tema Konferensi British Council New Direction tahun ini adalah standar dalam sistem pembelajaran.


            Ms Kerry diminta untuk ikut dalam diskusi panel 1; Asesmen di dalam Pendidikan yang memakai media bahasa inggris, Sekolah Permata Bangsa digambarkan sebagai model efektif untuk EMI School (sekolah yang memakai bahasa inggris untuk media pembelajaran dan pengajarannya) menekankan pada pengembangan ketrampilan bahasa murid di dalam dua bahasa yaitu bahasa ibu (bahasa kndonesia) dan juga bahasa inggris.  Bapak Tory dan Ibu Agustin diundang sebagai peserta VIP yang memberikan dukungan ke banyak peserta tentang kepentingan dan strategi yang digunakan untuk menilai bahasa di PBS.


            Sebuah pengalaman yang sangat positif dan kami berharap bisa memberikan dukungan untuk komunitas lokal dan internasional yang ingin menjalankan program EMI (sekolah/program yang memakai media bahasa inggris dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran).

            The conference provided for English Language Assessment specialists in connection with academia, policy and practice; showcasing innovative approaches and research locally, regionally and internationally.  

            This year's British Council New Directions in English Language and Assessment conference theme was: Standards in Learning Systems.

            Ms. Kerry was asked to join Panal Discussion 1:  Assessment in English Medium Education. Permata Bangsa School was presented as an effective model for EMI schools (English as a medium of instruction) highlighting that we build our students language skills in both mother tongue (Indonesian) as well as English.  

            Mr. Tory and Ms. Agustin were also invited to the conference as VIP attendees who offered support to many particiapants on the importance and strategies used to assess language at PBS.

            It was a very positive experience and we look forward to providing more and more support to local and international communities looking to build EMI programmes.

            This years Halloween was one of our best yet. Some FANTASTIC costumes and a big thanks to all the parents who donated to the delicious pot luck dinner.

          • Literacy Month

          • Today Permata Bangsa along with all other schools in Semarang joined the National Literacy Programme. Students were allowed to read any fiction or non-fiction book of their choosing. Textbooks and especially handphones were not allowed.

            Some students were lucky enough to be able to relax outside with their books under the shady tree.


            It was certainly very quiet and peaceful at the Permata Bangsa for that hour and many students have shown interest in this activity to become more regular.

            Permata Bangsa also has reading time during the "Exercise Break" in the library each day and we have a collection of over 4,000 books. Our library is currently being put online so students will be able to also reserve books and be notified when they are returned.
